Coimbatore: The Minister of Electricity V Senthil Balaji said road infrastructure in Coimbatore will be given complete makeover in the coming days.
Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of the ‘Makkal Sabhai’ program in the city on Monday, Balaji said it took 30 minutes to cover road stretches that could be crossed in 10 minutes.
“The reason is that the road is severely damaged.
They are not put back or repaired,” he said.
Noting that the city’s population demands that the streets must be put back, Balaji says it works to identify the path that needs to be considered.
After the road is identified, the project’s estimate will be prepared, he said.
“Once we know the extent to which funds are needed to regulate road infrastructure, it will be taken to the Minister of Chief,” he said.
Likewise, poor roads in rural areas are also assessed, he said.
