Coimbatore: Police RS Puram on Tuesday arrested three people, including a teenager, because of robbing a 44-year-old man last month.
The defendant was identified as Murugan Mallusamy, 29, from Tuticorin, and Syed Afridi, 19 and P Thhirurugan, 20, from Tei District.
Victims, V Sureshkumar from Palakkad, are waiting at the Gandhipuram bus terminal to take the bus to Ukkadam.
“Trio, on two motors, approached him and offered to drop it in Ukkadam.
But they took him to the train yard near the Syrian Church and grabbed his cellphone and 500 in the knifepoint,” said a police officer.
A police team led by Inspector T Parimaladevi understands the trio on Tuesday during vehicle search.
During interrogation, they claimed to have done several robbery.
