Gurugram: This district is likely to witness cold waves from December 19, according to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD).
The minimum temperature can drop to four degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature of up to 21 degrees Celsius on December 19.
“This region will be at the core of the winter from December 20 to January 20.
The northwest wind of the mountains dressed in snow will bring a cold wave to this region,” said Meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the district was eight degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
The maximum is 22.8 degrees Celsius.
According to IMD, cold weather conditions are likely in the coming days.
The night temperature will fall further to five degrees Celsius immediately.
“Cold waves will hold the area in the next few days.
We will issue a warning if the minimum temperature falls below four degrees Celsius after where the temperature moves into the Frost category,” said an IMD official.
Commuter must be careful of driving during the early hours and late at night during the cold wave period.
Aqi ‘very poor’ after a 5 day air quality index (AQI) in Gurgaon turned ‘very poor’ on Tuesday after staying in the ‘poor’ category for the last five days.
Aqi rose until 306 on Tuesday from 253 on Monday.
The previous AQI was 207, 268, 294 and 257 on Sunday, Saturday, Friday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, Aqi Delhi deteriorated further on Tuesday in the “very poor” category.
It was 367 on Tuesday for fighting 337 the day before.
