Kolkata: With a steep increase in daily footsteps, Metro Railway will add 10 more services along the south-south line from Wednesday.
On September 6, the Metro has added six services.
There will be 256 trains (128 in each direction) instead of 246.
Metro at this time will be only two highest service shortages after continuing in September last year, after covid-induced locking.
Before Pandemic, Metro Ran 288 service every day.
Toi reported that the operator had violated 2.5 lakh passengers on September 3, in just 50 days, followed the resumption on July 16 after a 61 day break for the second wave.
Officials said the utility would try to reach the pre-pandemic fleet to ensure the distance was maintained in the rakes.
From Wednesday, there will be more trains at 5-minute intervals during rush hour in the morning and evening.
Metro currently operates during weekdays and runs special staff for important workers on Saturdays and Sundays.
The working day service starts at 7:30 a.m.
and ends at 10:30.
Of the 256 services that will be available from Wednesday, 148 services (74 up and 74) will run between Kavi Subhash and Dakshineshwar.
During the morning rush hour, the service will be available at an interval of 5 minutes from 9am to 10:30 a.m.
and above and from 9am to 10 in the morning.
Under direction, the metro will also run at a 5 minute interval starting at 10:30 to 11:00.
During rush hour night, the metro will run at a 5-minute interval starting at 17:30 to 6:30 p.m.
and 17:00 to 6pm to the bottom of the direction.
Service will also be available at intervals of 5 minutes from 6:30 a.m.
until 7pm to the bottom.
There will be 32 services (16 to 16 down) to and from the Mahanayak station Uttam Kumar during rush hour in the morning and evening.
Of these, 15 services will be carried out between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Dakshineswar.
Services introduced between Mahnayak Uttam Kumar and Dakshineshwar and Dum Dum Station will serve office visitors traveling throughout this section.
“This service has been planned in such a way that the passengers who intend to travel beyond Mahanayak Uttam Kumar can take advantage of services within 10 minutes,” said a Metro spokesman.
The first train from Dum Dum, DakshineShwar and Kavi Subhash will be 7:30 a.m.
as usual.
The last train from DakshineShwar will be 9.18 as usual.
The last train from Dum Dum and Kavi Subhash will be 9:30 a.m.
There is no token that will be issued.
