Kolkata: Two days after the KMC announced that the parks will remain opened at night, several parks in the housing environment held on Wednesday opened at 4pm for two hours on Thursday.
Rawdon Street Resident and Lawyer Ankit Agarwal, who want a garden to reopen at night, visit all parks in the area after they opened on Thursday.
“Rawdon Square, Victoria Square and Nature Study Park have been opened.
Residents, especially parents who cannot come out in the morning or housewives who are too busy in the morning to exercise, will be welcomed,” he said, hoping for the park time will be extended So that more people can exercise in a safe environment.
Rawdon Squareallen Park at Park Street, Minto Park and Deshapriya Park are also open at night on Thursday.
Malay partner, a septuagenarian and resident of Bose Road, who appeared in Deshapriya Park at 5 o’clock, said he had long been waiting for the opportunity to take a walk at night in his favorite park.
Parents of small children now hope KMC and KMDA will open the park for children too.
Parks have died for children for more than one and a half years now even though they are allowed to enter the mall and cinema.
