Thiruvananthapuram: “Carelessness” Kerala Government, which is more focused on celebrating the commemoration of the Moplah Riot, is the reason for a steep increase in the case of Covid-19 and testing the level of participants in the state, the Indonesian State Minister for Affairs and Parliament V Van Muraleedharan said on Thursday.
The southern state on Wednesday recorded 31,445 fresh coronavirus infections and tolls installed until 19,972 with 215 new deaths and TPR rose to 19.03 percent.
Kerala reported more than 30,000 cases after a three-month gap.
The last time it crossed this sign on May 20, in the middle of the second wave, when recording 30,491 cases.
Overcoming media in New Delhi, the minister said the high number of new cases, the increase in the level of testicitivity test (TPR) which was close to 20 percent and the number of deaths in Kerala, together showed that the country experienced a very bad phase of the pandemic.
“The carelessness of the state government is the reason for this,” he said and added that the government left “more focused on celebrating Riot Moplah’s birthday”.
“It’s not a priority.
Dealing with Covid-19 must be a priority,” he said.
A similar view was also revealed by the Mla Ramesh Chennithala congress who said the state government had failed to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the state and demanded that the Head of Pinarayi Vijayan’s head apologize to the people.
He also said that the “carelessness” of the country was the reason behind the increase in Covid-19 cases in Kerala.
The MLA Congress said that currently the state is an accounting of around 70 percent of the national total daily fresh infections.
On the press meeting in New Delhi, Muraleedharan said even the central team who visited the southern state has recently demonstrated in Covid prevention steps in Kerala.
He accused the policy of Kerala’s government home quarantine had failed to curb the spread of the virus and as a result of the infrastructure of the burdened hospital and the normal bed slowly ran out.
He further said that the minister’s chairman who had previously been used to regularly hold the Covid press meeting at night, no longer do it and he was “not visible”.
He said that the government’s claim about the shortage of vaccines in the past all existed and the vaccination steps had also been found because only 84 percent of his health workers had received both vaccine doses until the date when other countries had achieved better.
RESULTS.
MuraleedHaran questioned whether the country had any data relating to the expected increase in the case of Covid-19 and TPR because of relaxation given during the Onam celebration recently when the crowds were seen in the market throughout Kerala.
He said that the state needs to take strict steps to prevent further distribution of Covid-19 in Kerala.
After the Onam celebration, medical experts predict that TPR will exceed 20 percent and the number of infections will increase further.
Since July 27, after the celebration of Bakrid when a relaxed limit for several days, Kerala has been side by side more than or nearly 20,000 cases almost every day.
