Collapses Buildings in Tiruvottiyur: SHRC Looking for Reports

Chennai: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has taken Suo Motu told toi reports on December 28 concerning the collapse of government quarters in Tiruvottiyur in Chennai and looked for detailed reports from the Implementing Director of the Urban Development Council of Tamil Nadu (TNUHB) and the main secretary for the Department of Housing Development and urban, within six weeks.

Some of them have moved to friends and relatives.
The rest spent a nervous night in their home, with falling plaster bits and buildings groaning.
Around 9:45 a.m.
on December 27, a local activist arrived for a video of the building and asked those who remained behind to move, the report stated.
Everyone has left the building at 10 am.
Residents said the building collapsed 10 minutes later, even when they stood outside.
Many families lost a lot of their belongings as they planned to shift things later.
