Collective progress of all countries to ensure recovery: FM

New Delhi: For a strong, sustainable, and inclusive global economic recovery affected by the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, it is very important to ensure the collective progress of all countries, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday.
While virtual participating in the G20 International Seminar which is hosted in Bali by the G20 presidency Indonesia, the Minister of Finance emphasizes the important role of multilateralism and collective actions in achieving global recovery goals, according to official releases.
He also underlined the importance of inclusion, investment, innovation and institutions to support the global recovery path.
The Minister of Finance emphasizes the importance of ensuring affordable and fair access to vaccines and therapeutics to bridge divergence witnessed in the global economic recovery.
In this context, he said so far India has provided more than 1.25 billion doses of vaccines and supplies more than 72 million doses of vaccines to more than 90 countries, including by providing global commitment coordinating.
The Minister of Finance stressed the importance of increasing infrastructure investment to allow returning to fast and stable growth lines.
He also stressed that green investment would play a key role in the efforts of rebuilding the government and asked the G20 to deliberate about how climate finance and green technology could be provided for developing countries so as to provide incentives and accelerate their efforts to green growth.
