Coimbatore: G S S Ssean District collector on Tuesday said the steps would be taken to prevent disposing of garbage inside and around the airport to curb bird movements.
Overcoming the meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee, he said City Corporation will overcome this problem.
Previously, airport officials had explained to him how birds in the area could disrupt flight movements.
The meeting was attended by MP P R Natarajan, corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara, Deputy Commissioner of Police T Jayachandran and Director of Airport S Senthil Valavan.
Collectors say that administration in relationships with industrialists will make efforts to operate more flights to and from the city.
“This will help develop the whole district, especially business activities.” Referring to the complaint that Snarl traffic at Avinashi Road delayed the trip to the airport, Samean said the city police would focus more on the stretch that leads to the airport.
