College campus is gray with co-curricular activities

Mangaluru: college campus ranging from Public Works level, which conducts co-curricular activities such as talent days and cultural nights in virtual mode, now holding such events on campus.
With a region that witnessed swimming in the case of Covid-19, the campuses took place with activities that were missed by students for a long time because of a pandemic.

Rajesh Chowta, Chairperson, Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (Tungau), Moodabidri, said that the students who are now the last age of engineering have attended classes on campus for only one and a half years.

Joseph Engineering’s spokesman, Sathyendra Bhat J, said, “Only the academics are not enough for students.
They ask us to hold all the events planned in virtual mode, on campus instead.

On Saturday, the campus held Milan-2021 everyday, a cultural event between classes.
Milan Fest was last held in 2019.
“We will continue all other activities stopped,” he said.
These students who take online classes participate are more active in these extracurricular and co-curricular activities, compared to the days before the pandemic, said St Aloysius PU College Principal FR Clifford Sequeira.
“The institution has changed all activities, including academics, online.
However, from this academic year, we will have it offline.
We will also arrange annual sports days and inter-Collegiate Fest ‘Preunique’ this year,” he said.
“I imagine that my PU college day will end without getting a stage to show off my talent.
I am happy to be able to spend a few months on campus,” said Fevin D’Souza, PU II students and beginner vocalists.
