Bhubaneswar: Overall 1,893 hectares of land government are under illegal ownership of universities 695 degrees in the state, in accordance with the information provided by the Ministry of Higher Education to the Income and Disaster Management Department.
The official source said 180 hectares of land were under an illegal occupation of 51 government universities.
Assessment of current benchmarks (BMV) land is Rs 220 Crore.
Likewise, the 644 universities assisted by non-government in the intangible occupied 1,713 hectares of government land.
Their value is not confirmed.
On August 9, the state government held a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary of the Suresh Chandra Mohapatra to discuss the ownership of government land inevitly.
Officials decided to provide a record of land rights to the government and universities assisted, which cannot permit government land.
The Ministry of Higher Education has requested information related to land from government universities and responsibly throughout the state.

The University Grant Commission (UGC) has decided that every institution must get NAAC accreditation in 2022.
The Ministry of Higher Education has also requested universities and colleges to prepare a detailed plan on how to increase their NAAC accreditation.
The department wants to make the majority of colleges and non-accredited Naac accredited universities to get funds and maintain quality.
