Mumbai: College and university across Maharashtra continued the physical class on Wednesday, after being closed for more than one and a half years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
In accordance with the direction of the state government, only students who are fully vaccinated are permitted to attend class sessions.
For those who cannot attend the physical class after the criteria that are fully vaccinated, most of the universities have made the provision of lectures directly broadcasting or continuing with online college facilities.
Last week, the higher Maharashtra Education Minister Uday Samant said all universities and universities in the state could conduct physical classes from October 20 and students must be fully vaccinated to attend class sessions.

The decision came after the school crossed the country to continue the physical session for class 5 to 12 on October 4 after being closed for more than one and a half years due to a pandemic.
The state government has enabled all non-agricultural universities, the state-run universities, considered the universities, universities and colleges financed themselves affiliated with them to hold physical classes with the effects of Wednesday.
Minister Samant last week said that every university must issue a standard operating procedure (SOP) to universities affiliated with him.
Acting on the direction of the government, Mumbai University on Sunday issued SOP for all universities affiliated with him.
According to its SOP, classrooms can only have 50 percent of students from total capacity.
Also, colleges must provide selected students for online or offline sessions.
The Institute must keep a record of Covid-19 vaccination certificates from each student and staff attending the physical session, according to the University of Mumbai SOP.
On Tuesday, Maharashtra reported 1,638 new Coronavirus cases and 49 deaths, took infection calculations to 65,94,820 and tolls to 1,39,865, while 2,791 patients recovered, said the previous health department official said.
The total number of recovery in Maharashtra rose to 64,24,547, leaving the country with 26,805 active cases, the official said.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra reached 97.42 percent, while the mortality rate was 2.12 percent.
