PANAJI / Quepem: General Stream College across Goa has begun to do physical classes after the new academic year 2021-22 for these institutions began on September 1.
There are several days delays for most universities to start offline classes as settings for the same in the process.
On the third or fourth day, most general flow institutions open their gate to students again, after a long gap.
Universities have divided students into batches that only accommodate 50% in classrooms, such as fighting class capacity.
Because only the third year students are called to attend classes, most institutions can accommodate all at once by spreading students throughout the classroom to be able to maintain social distance and other standard operating procedures (SOP).
The Principal of CES College of Arts and Commerce, Cuncolim, Sanjay Desai, told TOI that 100% of the third year of the trade and art attend the physical class by maintaining physical distance and following other Covid security norms.
Desai said that 30 students were accommodated in classes that had a capacity of 60 students.
College has around 70 classrooms.
“We have published instructions to students not to attend physical classes if they experience cold or fever symptoms.
The presence is not compulsory, students can stay at home if they are afraid of attending classes.
We have started the physical class on the basis of experiments after years of rest.
Students who prefer to stay at home will be accommodated online, “said Dessai.
For students who choose not to attend offline classes, options to take advantage of college online sessions or watch video lessons in the Directorate of Higher Education platform available.
However, most institutions reported a good presence of third-year students wherever they were called to attend the physical class.
The Institutes said they continued to teach students first and second year through online mode.
The college has decided to review the online class at the end of September and thus receive calls about offline sessions for first and second year students.
