Kolkata: This city is set to receive mild to moderate rainfall this weekend under low pressure impact in Bengal Southeast Bay.
The cloud cover can appear above Kolkata from Thursday because the east wind starts flowing, carrying moisture from the sea.
It might start drizzling in Kolkata from Friday night and can continue until Monday.
It can be moderate on Sundays even when the city remains cloudy.
Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 19.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
It might rise above 20 degrees from Thursday.
The maximum can slide below 30 degrees, the Met Office said.
“It will be warmer when mercury rises.
But we hope drizzle from Friday night.
Rain can continue on Saturday and become more frequent and a little heavier on Sundays.
After the cloud clover recedes and the rain stops, the minimum temperature will drop again.
But the cold cold is still far away, “said Director of the Regional Meteorology Center, GK Das.
Meanwhile, the low pressure system has moved towards Tamil Nadu Beach.
“Although there will be no direct impact on South Bengal, moisture and wind will trigger clouds and rain.
However, it will not last until the weekend,” Das added.
A low pressure trough is set to form between Odisha and Bangladesh which will gather with a low pressure system as well as hits the land on Friday night.
“This will trigger rain this weekend,” he said.
