Kolkata: To defeat Covid-19, some pregnant women in the city have begun to blacken themselves.
Some pregnant women are infected during pandemic.
While some lucky returned home after staying at the hospital, others had to bear the loss of their newborn baby.
Some of them also gave up on infection.
“I have seen how difficult it is to manage pregnant women who are infected with Covid-19.
I am worried about myself and my unborn child, so I did not waste the day when my doctor Priya Ray told me to get a Covid shot,” said Khetrimayum Naobi , a nurse with an Amri Mukundapur hospital.
Naobi seven months pregnant took his first Covaxin Jab a few days ago at the RN Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences where her husband worked as a cath lab technician.
“With the threat of the third wave of big towering, we cannot take risks.
I convinced about the benefits of vaccines.
I have taken the first JAD in a peerless hospital so that I do not regret later,” said Tollygunge Resident Priyanka Halder, a six and a half week became a conception.
Her husband Somnath also brought Jab with him on the same day to be around him.
Resident Topsia Shinjinee Roy has taken his first covishield dose in July the first week without knowing that he was pregnant.
“My wife will take the second dose without failing because our doctor Basab Mukherjee suggested us about the benefits,” said Arijit Roy’s husband.
The Ministry of Health Union in the first week of July has approved vaccination of pregnant women and extensive SOPs also formulated.
Many are still in two thoughts about this problem.
“Covid-19 infection can cause a quick setback in pregnant women and can also affect the fetus.
A woman can take a vaccine in any pregnancy trimester,” said Fogsi (Federation of Kidetration and Indian Gynecology victory) of the National President S Shantha Kumari.
Fogsi has played a role in convincing the government to bring mothers who expect into the realm of inoculation programs.
“There seems to be a vaccine doubt among pregnant women.
But we try to convince them about the importance of getting a vaccine shot,” said Vice President Fogsi and Gynecologist Basab Mukherjee based in Kolkata.
Even when the state is expected to launch a vaccination drive specifically for pregnant women, some have started dripping into private CVCs.
“We vaccinate pregnant women according to the direction of the Indonesian government after taking all precautions,” said Anupam Das, senior manager at Peerless Hospital.
