Kolkata: The number of students attending open classes at Temple of Taltala times multiply times a day since Monday, forcing school authorities to shift children from inside to pages so that all can be accommodated with sufficient distances between each other.
Toi on Tuesday reported how education destroyed religious barriers on Monday as 26 students pre-primary-grade IV from Taltala School – most of them Muslims – entered the temple times for their classes of paray sikshalay.
The number of students increased to 55 on Tuesday.
“Some Muslim parents are still alert to send their children to school on Monday because the class is held in a temple.
But look at the response and hear feedback from children who attend classes on Monday, and their parents, many people others send their children to the temple on Tuesday.
We hope more students in the coming days, “said Namrata Gangopadhyay, a teacher at the main part of Taltala High School and Venue-in-Charge in the Open School Program in Sri Sri Haro Gouri Kali Mandir at Haro Kumar Tagore in Taltala.
According to Gangopadhyay, the district inspector also praised the thought of organizing classes with a large number of minority community students in a temple, with the support of the temple and local authority, in the absence of large land.
“The District Inspector congratulated me for the success of open-class operations.
I will personally visit the temple on Wednesday to encourage students and teachers,” he said.
