New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi who spoke to the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday invites global producers to come and make vaccines in India.
During his speech in the 76th session from Unga, PM Modi praised the management efforts of Covid-19 India and said that despite having limited resources, “India works aggressively on the development and manufacturing of vaccines”.
“Understanding his responsibilities for humanity, India began to provide vaccines to those in need in the world.
I, here, inviting a global vaccine manufacturer to come and make a vaccine in India,” said PM Modi.
The prime minister further announced that India has developed the world’s first DNA vaccine.
“I want to tell Unga that India has developed the first DNA vaccine in the world.
This can be given to anyone over the age of 12.
The MRNA vaccine in the final stage of development,” he said.
“Indian scientists also developed the nose vaccine against Covid-19,” he added.
The theme for general debate this year is ‘building resilience through hope to recover from Covid-19, rebuilding on an ongoing basis, responding to the needs of this planet, respecting the rights of people, and revitalizing the United Nations’.
PM Modi arrived in New York on Friday night for the last US visit.
He left Washington on Friday after meeting US President Joe Biden and attended the Quad Summit.
