Patna: Statement of state president RJD Jagadand Singh that “politics is not suitable for those who wear jeans” has caused controversy among state politics.
The leader who cut party lines has suggested an old RJD guard to change his mindset.
When overcoming party workers during Dharna to suppress the caste-based census on Saturday, Singh has advised them not to wear jeans because they will send the wrong message.
Singh, credited with maintaining discipline at a party, also asked the workers to sit on the Dharna site.
“We are a party of poor people, pressed, and oppressed.
We have to fight with long battles because our rights are compromised.
Those who wear jeans may not be our party workers, but from RSS or BJP.
They sneak into our agitation with hidden motives , “Singh told the meeting.
The Head of State RJD became anxious after several workers wearing jeans were seen moving here and there and a little attention to repetitive requests to sit on the Dharna site.
Apparently annoyed at their behavior, Singh said, “Jeans Pahanne Wale Neta Nahi Ho Sakte (those who wear jeans cannot become leaders).” Within hours of Jagdanand’s statement, a number of Chhatra RJD workers were seen sports jeans at his meeting held at the State Office on Sunday.
Head of State Chhatra RJD Akash Kumar said, “I think it is inappropriate and justified.
Politics today has nothing to do with clothes or uniforms.” Neeraj Kumar, the carrier of the Chhatra RJD office said, “We respect the Jagada Babu for seniority and contribution to the party since Beginning, but he had to refrain from making controversial comments.
” Reacting to the word spokesman Singh, Ham (s) Danish Rizwan said, “This is ridiculous.
He must first try to arrange his house in sequence.
RJD leaders such as Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Manoj Jha can be seen T-shirts and sports jeans.
He must Starting actions against them first.
“VIP National Spokesman Dev Jyoti said,” With all respect and honor for RJD Syalwart, I want to say that time has changed and so is the case with politics.
Wearing jeans is no longer taboo.
“JD (u ) Spokesman Abhishek Jha described Singh’s statement as an insult to young people.
“This shows the party’s mindset he is headed,” he added.
