Ludhiana: City corporate building branch on Tuesday sealed eight properties to carry out commercial activities from the New BRS Nagar residential area.
Zone D-Zone officials, who took action against the offenders, said the new Nagar BRS was part of the city planning scheme and was only appointed to the nature of housing.
They said they had received complaints from residents around eight properties used for commercial purposes, because some even made a warehouse for construction materials.
The complainant even approached the Punjab High Court and Haryana.
Officials claimed that they had issued a warning to this previous property holder, but they could not take action because Covid.
Now the population again raised the problem and also filed an insult to a court application, after officials had to seal properties.
ATP Madanjit Singh Bedi said, “We have asked the owner to empty the property, but they are looking for time, quoting a pandemic.
When the resident moves a high court, we have sealed the property.”
