Bengaluru: Commercial Street, one of the main Bengaluru shopping centers in the business center (CBD), will be closed for 14 days from Monday night to fix problems related to the latest works under the City City project.
Commercial roads that can be built were opened by former BS Yediyurappa minister’s head in July.
However, the rocky road immediately began to show signs of damage.
Rajendra Cholan, Managing Director, Bengaluru Smart City Limited (BSCL), told TOI: “The vehicle movement before adequate time to cure the road led by paving stone damage.
We have imposed a 10% penalty on the contractor and requesting replacement of Pavers.” Cholan, While stating that RS 1.2 Crore – from the budget of RS 3.8 Crore – has been released, said because of damage, the way back will be closed for rebuilding.
Other sources say pavers will be replaced before starting work on the carriageway.
Working on the laying pipe is complete.
Development returns using concrete pavers in yellow, magenta, gray and chocolate recommended by the Directorate of Tanah Urban transportation, inspired by European streets.
This project was announced in 2019.
The work began in May 2020 but the pandemic delayed it.
