NEW DELHI: Ongoing its support to India to combat the Covid-19 spike, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday reported that the next dispatch of Sputnik V vaccine was delivered to India since Russia is dedicated to assist Indian buddies in these challenging times.
“Now, we’ve sent a second cargo of Sputnik V vaccine to India to get a follow up to enormous steps we’ve made to give help to India,” answered Lavrov into ANI question concerning Sputnik V through a media conference following the BRICS assembly.
“Russia is dedicated to assist our friends in combating this virus (Covid-19),” he added.
Russia’s Sputnik V obtained approval by the topic specialist committee (SEC) for Agency Use Authorisation (EUA), which makes it the third Covid-19 vaccine to find clearance in India.
Before, in the afternoon, the largest import consignment of Covid-19 vaccines in India till date between 56.6 tonnes of Russian-made Sputnik V offenses obtained in Hyderabad.
The vaccine consignment came from Russia to a specially chartered freighter RU-9450 that landed at Hyderabad Airport in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Sputnik V was imported to India from Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and will probably be fabricated locally from the pharmaceutical important in the forthcoming months.
Lavrov’s comments come after the BRICS assembly.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar chaired the stand alone assembly via video conferencing.
It had been convened by India because the Recent BRICS Chair.
