Committee on Power efficiency, low carbon Technology to be Put up: Union power Ministry

NEW DELHI: Union energy ministry R K Singh on Thursday said that a committee will be put up with members from all relevant ministries for implementation of the roadmap on power efficiency and low carbon technology.
As stated by the power ministry,” Singh chaired a high level assembly to assess the progress of different energy efficiency programmes as well as the preparedness of Climate Change Actions in the nation during videoconferencing on Thursday.
The goal of the high-level assembly was to discuss actions within the area of energy efficiency throughout all of the industries of the market with the aim of decreasing CO2 emissions.
“A Committee/Group to be put up with members from relevant ministries such as implementation of the Roadmap on Energy Efficiency and very low carbon technology,” he explained.
The Union said that a joint drive for renewables is underway and a comprehensive action plan will be made to determine prospective locations.
Singh led to maintain the attention on businesses with the greatest emissions intensity like Transfer, MSMEs and electricity plants.
In addition, he discussed the actions defined below the Mission record – ROSHANEE – that has been created for executing a set of Energy Conservation strategies throughout the nation.
He advised that the ministries to take suitable measures on the demand side projects to make sure the wastage of electricity is minimised and stated the installation of low carbon technology has to be taken on a large scale, particularly in the MSMEs, in which it’s highly crucial.
He instructed each of the divisions that Electric Mobility should be aggressively pushed.
The Union Minister emphasized that for improved implementation of energy efficiency strategies, the financial mechanism at Bureau of Energy Efficiency, CPSU below the ministry of electricity could be bolstered.
The high-level assembly had senior officials in the ministry of electricity, ministry of environment woods and climate modification, ministry of renewable and new energy, ministry of housing and urban affairs, ministry of external affairs, ministry of irrigation, ministry of road transport and highways, division of cost, division of significant business, NITI Aayog, CEA, BEE, NTPC, PFC, REC, EESL, IREDA and SECI.
Alok Kumar, secretary, ministry of electricity, emphasized the cooling industry, cold cooking and storage are all key areas to concentrate to successfully achieving our goals for CO2 emission reduction.
In addition, he discussed possibilities of investigating the change of products movement from road transportation to railways.
“Bureau of Energy Efficiency has created two applications namely ROSHANEE and UNNATEE setting down the sector-wise activity program for the time 2021-2030,” it added.
Mission ROSHANEE envisages various actions within the area of energy efficiency across all of the industries of the market with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions by over 550 million tonnes from the nation from 2030 whereas UNNATEE is still a working record, using short term and long term actions plans for reducing energy strength.
