New Delhi: The government is trapped in an improvement after one of the top competitors for the next director General (DG) Coast Guard moved the Delhi High Court to the new promotion policy of the Ministry of Defense for the Force.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) will submit a response through a written statement in court on the petition submitted by the Director General (ADG) additional from West Seaboard, Rajan Bargotra, official source said on Tuesday.
This case occurred during the panel led by Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar was completing the successor list to present the coast guard DG Krishnaswamy Natarajan, who retired at the end of December.
Two senior officers from the coast guards in the calculation are Bargotra and D Pathania – both posted at headquarters in New Delhi.
They have completed the one-year requirement as ADG.
Deputy ranks of Vice-Admiral ratings from the Navy have previously posted as DGS Guard Coast, the smallest of four armed services under the mod.
But in recent years, officers from the coast guard cadres have managed to reach its peak.
In his petition, Bargotra has challenged a new mod policy which made it mandatory for the Candidate’s annual secret report (ACR) from the previous five years which must be considered for promotion.
Policy considering the ACR of five years is the norm in civil service, where only seniority is considered, and not in the armed forces, the petition argues.
The controversy came shortly after the mod conducted an investigation of alleged forgery records during board promotions for the second highest ranking selection on the coast of the guard.
