Rajkot: Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has received as many as 37,000 complaints on the OTP-based complaint resolution system launched by two and a half months ago.
The Civic body has launched a pulse number for residents to register their complaints on September 23.
Employees can close complaints only after getting the OTP from the complainant received on the cellphone number.
According to RMC officials, they have received 37,709 complaints after starting this service related to drainage, food, electricity, solid waste management and water department.
The Chairperson of the Permanent Pushkar Patel said, “Out of total complaints, 36,749 or 97.45% has been completed.
The total 25,150 complaints are resolved by OTP while in other cases, employees cannot contact the complainance.
In those cases, complaints are closed after verification by verification by Higher officials.
“The Civic body needs to get assistance from the Department of Telecommunications, Electricity and Train to complete 6,379 other complaints and related officials from these departments have been contacted.
RMC also started a residential feedback system on the completion of complaints from August 18 where citizens were questioned by three questions – the quality of RMC work, employee behavior and time taken to complete the complaint.
A total of 12,180 people gave feedback under this system where 39.80% gave a five-star rating and 18.91% gave four stars.
