Patna: Chief Minister (CM) Kumar Nitish on Friday requested an official of the Minority Department of Welfare to complete the construction of the Anjuman Islamia Hall based in Patna in February next year.
An eight-storey building was built with an estimated expenditure of Rs 39.14 Crore at the place of an Islamic Hall Anjuman Lama in Ashok Rajpath.
Chairing a meeting to review the functions of the Minority Department of Welfare, Nitish said, “Anjuman Islamia Hall is a historic building that I have special attachments.
After the new building is ready, it will be a source of income for the waqf board.” Previously, Nitish had laid the foundation for building building It was only in the place of Anjuman Islamia Lama on October 15, 2018.
CM also asked officials to ensure the construction of a multi-purpose Waqf building in all 38 countries so “people who have a minority community can use it for different purposes”.
While reviewing the department’s welfare scheme, Nitish directed officials to provide loans to the minorities under the Mukhyamantri AlpsanKhyak Rozgar Yojana.
He also asked them to accelerate the construction of school buildings throughout the country and adopt different components of the ‘Unnour Bihar’ model to provide better education to children.
Previously, the Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department, Safeena a N, made a detailed presentation before CM about the implementation of a different scheme.
