Ghaziabad: The Ministry of Health will hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss ways to increase vaccine coverage in certain fields.
Officials said they had been directed to complete the first dose among the population estimates this month.
Loni, Bhojpur and Dasna are some areas where vaccine coverage is low, officials said.
During the district assignment group meeting on Monday, Hakesh, Rakesh Kumar Singh asked the Ministry of Health officials to target 40,000 jabs every day in rural and urban areas.
He also directed officials to drive vaccination on Saturdays and Sundays.
DM instructs Nodal officers to conduct reviews for each tehsil at night and take appropriate action.
“List of people who have not been vaccinated so far must be available with Asha workers.
They must contact those who have not been vaccinated and encourage them to come to the center,” he told the official.
DM said that if necessary, officials must take the help of Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, Village Head, Board Member and City President at a different level.
Singh asked the health department to divide the campaign into two phases.
In the first phase, those who have not received one shot must be vaccinated.
The second will focus on encouraging people who come for the last shot.
Chief Medical Officer Bhavtosh ShanKhdhar said the Nodal officer’s meeting was called to write down the plan.
According to official data, Ghaziabad has an estimated population of 18.1 lakh in the age group 18-44.
From them, 15.9 lakh people had taken the first shot so far.
In category 45+, the district has provided a 6.9 lakh first dose and the second dose of 4.4 lakh to an 8.7 lakh-targeted population.
However, Noida has exceeded the vaccination target in category 18+, giving the first jab to around 125% of the targeted population.
In the age group 45+, 97% of the population had been given the first dose.
There are 10.5 lakh which qualifies in the age group 18-44.
The Ministry of Health in Ghaziabad has received the Government Vial of 89,000 VTM (Virus Transportation Media), which is needed for RT-PCR tests.
This lack of bottles has hampered the testing process in this district.
Against the target of 3,900 RT-PCR tests every day, only about 150 are being carried out.
Officials said they would meet the testing target from Tuesday.
