Compliance with facial masks has increased in Chennai, the study said

Chennai: Compliance mask has increased in Chennai, according to a study conducted by the National Institute of Epidemiology.
The study was conducted by Dr.
Prabhdeep Kaur and P Ganeshkumar from Nie, showing that mask adherence in slums has increased to 41% from 21% in March this year.
Likewise, the compliance of masks in non-slum areas increased to 47% from 21% in March this year.
Nie studied 3,200 outdoor people and 1,280 individuals in the room of 64 roads chosen randomly in the city.
The study said 38% of slums and 25% of non-seedy populations were not wearing outdoor masks.
Compliance mask in the room 24% and 33% respectively to slum and non-slum.
39% slum population and 34% non-slum population do not wear outdoor masks.
The study stated that as in the previous three rounds, the team randomly chose 64 streets: 32 roads each in the slums and non-seedy GCC.
At every survey point, the researchers observed 50 consecutive individuals outside the room and 20 people in indoor places between 8 and July 10 July.
Indoor public areas include arrangements that are open to the public and do not have entry limits (grocery stores, vegetable stores, pharmacies, religious places, clothing stores).
Outdoor public places are streets in residential or commercial areas, markets and bus stops, the research said.
