Conflict cannot be ruled out: Rajnath on Lac Row

New Delhi: Noting that the possibility of all forms of conflict cannot be ruled out in an uncertain environment, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh emphasizes the need to develop border infrastructure while dedicating 24 new bridges and three roads to the nation on Tuesday.
“We face our enemies in the North Sector recently with grit and determination.
It is impossible without the right infrastructure development,” said Singh, referring to the ongoing military confrontation with China in East Ladakh since May last year.
“In today’s uncertain environment, the possibility of all forms of conflict cannot be ruled out.
Strong infrastructure in border areas is very important because it strengthens strategic abilities.
When we move forward towards strengthening our border infrastructure, we must improve our surveillance system too,” He said at the e-inuguration ceremony.
Built by border organizations Roads (Bro), new bridges including nine in Jammu & Kashmir, five each at Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, three in Uttarakhand, and one in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
The road, two on Ladakh and one in West Bengal.
Significantly included the first double-lane double-lane modular bridge in the country was built at an altitude of 11,000 feet in the Flag Hill-Dokala in Sikkim and the Chisumle-Demchok road in Umling La passed more than 19,000 feet in East Ladakh.
The road in Umling La Pass will allow faster armed forces, increase tourism and ensure the social-economic development of the region.
“The road in the border area meets strategic needs and ensures the same participation from remote areas in the development of the nation,” Singh said, praising Bro for its perseverance in achieving achievements regardless of sub-zero derivatives.
