Ludhiana: Bharatiya Janata Party Workers and Farmer Union members have a face-off outside the hotel in Ferozepur Road, where a BJP Mahila Morcha program is being held on Tuesday.
Tensions increased when Bhartiya Kisan Union members insisted on protesting in a place against BJP because they did not roll up agricultural bills and caused slogans when the leader of the party came out of the hotel after the meeting.
Party workers rushed to farmers with sticks, but the police intervened and the clash was avoided.
BJP leaders condemned the Congress government because of its failure to manage legal and order situations until the extent of political parties were not permitted to hold meetings.
They say this is not a farmer because farmers work in the fields.
