Cong, CPM stop hostel expulsion

KOLLAM: Congress and CPM workers led by AICC members Bindhu Krishna and CPM Leader E Shanawas Khan together prevented the Regency collector B Abdul Nazar moving to drive a woman’s hostel here on Saturday.
The collector has served a notification to the Women’s Hostel run by the Mahila District Cooperative community quoting that he had imposed contributions on the number of Purambow land rent where the hostel functions.
After this, the authority has submitted a petition to the commissioner of land income which searches for permanent orders in the collector’s process.
The commissioner then issued a stay order.
But the collectors, ignoring the commissioner’s command, befell the notification stating that there are only two original prisoners in the dormitory and the remaining population will be expelled.
However, Bindhu Krishna said there were 20 women living in Hostel.
“Collectors have functions beyond the official capacity and strength,” he said.
