NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader and Chief of Resistance from Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi dissociating himself in the Method of Choice of Their Newest chairperson and members of Their National Human Rights Commission.
Throughout the assembly of the Appointments Committee to the appointment to the post of chairperson and members of their National Human Rights Commission held Monday evening in the Prime Minister’s residence , Kharge put to record his perspectives on the committee’s decision to recommend that a panel of names to the decision on the post of chairperson and members of the NHRC.
“I’d triumphed in the present assembly my concern over the increase in the event of atrocities on Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minorities and suggested that one individual belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Minorities be suggested for appointment to the place of Chairperson under Section 3(2)(a) or some member under Part 3(2)(c)or a member under Part 3(2)(d) into the National Human Rights Commission from one of the present list of applicants.
“In addition, I pointed out that the consultation of the chairperson or a part into the NHRC cannot merely be dismissed to the pretext that there isn’t any particular provision to the effect from the defense of Human Rights Act, 1993 and alterations made.
Obviously there cannot be any bar to decorate chairperson or associate to the NHRC with this floor,” he explained in his correspondence.
Instead, the Congress leader suggested that when this isn’t possible, the assembly could be postponed for a week and also reconvened bringing prior to the selection committee that the names of several candidates in Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minorities to ensure these could be advocated for your consultation for your post of chairperson or member of the NHRC.
“Considering that the Committee didn’t take some of my ideas, I state my disagreement with the recommendations produced by the committee in respect to appointments to the posts of chairperson and members of NHRC,” Kharge mentioned in his letter to the Prime Minister.
