Jaipur: The powerful Congress swept the Parishads Dholpur and Alwar Zila as the calculation for the election of Panchayat in the two districts ended on Friday.
Congress also installed a good show in Panciran Samiti, a member of the poll for winning 208 of 492 seats, followed by BJP with 158 seats.
While Independent won 113 Pancting Members of Panchayat Samiti, Party Bahujan Samajj (BSP) won 12 posts.
At Dholpur Zila Parishad, the Congress party has won 17 of the 23 members of Zila Parishad members, registering a clear and guaranteed majority to win the Zila Pramukh post.
BJP has secured six members of Zila Parishad members in Dholpur.
In Alwar Zila Parishad too, Congress has a majority which clearly won 25 of the 49 seats Zila Parisad members.
Therefore, the party is guaranteed to win the Zila Pramukh post in Alwar.
BJP’s closest rival has secured 20 posts and independently won four seats.
Of the 72 members members of Zila Parishad, Congress won 42 seats, BJP won 26 posts and independently bagged 4 seats.
