Jaipur: The powerful Congress in Rajsthan has a clear majority in Dholpur Zila Parishad and the advantage of the BJP opposition in Alwar Zila Parishad as a calculation for the election of Panchayat in the two districts ended on Friday.
The Congress also swept the polls of Panchayat Samiti members for winning 208 of 492 seats, followed by BJP with 158 seats.
While Independent won 113 Pancting Members of Panchayat Samiti, the Bahujan Party Samajj (BJP) won 12 posts.
In Dholpur Zila Parishad, the Congress Party has won 17 of the 23 members of Zila Parisad members, registering a clear and guaranteed majority to win the Zila Pramukh post.
BJP has secured six members of Zila Parishad members in Dholpur.
In Alwar Zila Parishad, of the 49 members of Zila Parishad members, Congress has won 24 posts, a clear majority deficiency.
BJP’s closest rivals secured 21 posts and independently won four seats.
While the congress will need support from an independent one to form a board in Alwar, BJP will need support from the fourth independent to win the Zila Pramukh post.
Of the 72 members of Zila Parishad members, Congress won 41 seats, BJP won 27 posts and independently bagged 4 seats.
After the victory of the Congress Party in Panchayat poll, the Chief of the Ashok Minister Gehlot Tweeted, “Very pleased that the congress has a majority in the election of Pancayati Raj in Alwar and Dholpur District.
