New Delhi: Congress on Wednesday appointed MPS Syed Naseer Hussain and Chhaya Verma as his whip in Rajya Sabha, said a party statement.
“Chairman Sonia Gandhi has appointed MPS Syed Naseer Hussain and Chhaya Verma as the Whips of Congress of the Parliament Party at Rajya Sabha,” said the party’s statement by the WHIP Congress head at Jairam Ramesh.
Congress has Malikarjun Kharge as opposition leader and Anand Sharma as Deputy Leader of Congress in the Upper House and this step is seen as an action to strengthen the management of the floor in Rajya Sabha.
This party now has the same number of whip and whip at the top of the house like at Lok Sabha.
