Congress Appoints Harshwardhan Sapkal, Chetan Chauhan as AICC Secretary

New Delhi: Congress on Thursday appointed Harshwardhan Sapkal and Chetan Chauhan as AICC Secretary and said they would help the party be responsible for Punjab and Chandigarh.
Harish Chaudhary is the Committee of the Indian Congress (AICC) responsible for party affairs in Punjab and the Union Chandigarh region.
“The president of the Congress has appointed Harshwardhan Sapkal and Chetan Chauhan as AICC secretary attached to AICC responsible for Punjab and Chandigarh with direct effects,” said the party in a statement.
Chaudhary recently made AICC responsible for Punjab, after Harish took care of trying to be released from the accusation because of the next assembly election at Uttarakhand.
The election of the Assembly in Punjab is scheduled for the beginning of next year and Congress, after replacing the main minister in the midst of internal disputes, being trying to maintain power there.
