Guwahati: Assam Congress supports Rahul Gandhi as the next President of the Indian Congress (AICC) even when the party will advance with the election to choose the carrier of his office.
After the CWC meeting on Saturday, the source said the old party might get a full time president in September next year.
PCC President Assam Bhupen Borah told Ti that Assam PCC would fully support the height of the top post.
“Rahul Gandhi must now take responsibility and start traveling throughout the country,” said Borah on Saturday.
He added that young people specifically wanted Rahul Gandhi to lead the party from front ahead of the crucial Sabha election of 2024.
