New Delhi: Congress on Monday said it ended its alique with AIDF led by Badruddin and Front Peoples Bodoland (BPF) in Assam.
This step will effectively open the way for the collapse of the “Mahajot” (Grand Alliance) formed earlier this year ahead of the assembly election in Assam.
The meeting of the core committee, which was chaired by the President of the State Congress Bhupen Bora, observed that “AIUD’s behavior and attitude in connection with BJP had confused Congress members”, spokesman for Bobbeeleta Party Sharma told reporters.
He said that “continuous and mysterious praise from BJP” AIUD had influenced the Congress’s public image.
A discussion was also held on the Alliance with BPF because his leadership had expressed their reluctance to remain part of the ‘Grand Alliance’ on various platforms, he said.
The President of the State Congress was fully authorized to make a decision about this problem and it was decided to tell the high command of the decision to break the relationship with the party, Sharma said.
Moving by the old party of the Grand comes in the midst of growth growth that it must leave the Grand Alliance in the northeastern state.
The 10-party ‘Grand Alliance’ or ‘Mahajot’, led by the Congress, was formed ahead of the election of this year’s assembly in the state.
However, failing to overthrow the government led by BJP in May this year, won only 50 of 126 seats.
