New Delhi: When the head of the Congress women’s wing resigned, the senior leader of Kapil Sibal on Monday said the party continued with “his eyes covered widely”.
“Sushmita Dev resigned from the primary membership of our party.
While young leaders left us ‘Oldies’ was blamed for our efforts to strengthen it,” said the former Union Minister on Twitter.
“The party moves with: eyes covered wide,” he said too.
Sibal, a member of the ’23 leader group’ who has written to the President of Congress Sonia Gandhi is looking for organizational improvement, has demanded that the party be strengthened.
The leader of the senior party on Sunday welcomed the party’s head initiative to bring together the same-minded political parties, but urged him to strengthen his own party, said that no opposition unity was possible without it.
Sibal, however, said he was with other leaders from “Group 23” would continue to demand reforms in the grand party of the Grand and continue to push its strength.
“I am happy that Congress President Sonia Gandhi took the initiative to bring the opposition union.
But our reform agenda must continue and we will continue to encourage him to strengthen the Congress,” he told PTI.
The former Union Minister said he and his party colleagues were ready to support this effort to revive and revitalize the Congress.
He said Gandhi could “throw away” him if he blocked his path, but he would continue to look for the strengthening of the Congress for bringing him to the front line of the opposition association.
“It’s not about me, but about the revival of the Congress and bring it to the front line of the opposition association.
Without a strong Congress, there is no opposition union,” said Sibal.
Sibal said the opposition union would not occur until the congress was revived and strengthened.
“This opposition project this union will fail if the congress is not strengthened and rejuvenated.
I hope the congress is aware of the importance of its superiority,” he said.
