Guwahati: The rich award animal was given to the leader of the Veteran Congress and former Tarun Gogoi Minister at the commemoration of his first death on Tuesday.
The Chairman of the Minister of Assam three times also served as State Minister in the Government of Narasimha Rao.
Gogoi, who represented the Jorhat chair in Parliament from 1971 several times, was seen as a loyalist of Gandhi and in Delhi facing Congress from Assam.
When he took over as the head of the Minister of State in 2001, Assam has witnessed dozens of years of rebellion and economic stagnise.
But for years he obtained credit because he became an architect from Assam Awakening, which directed the country on the road to progress.
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee organizes programs in each district to pay homage to the Stalwart Party, which has exhaled the latter at the Medical Medical Hospital of Gahati here because of the post-covid complication last year.
Assam PCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah started the program at the State Congress Head Office Rajiv Bhawan here by offering a flower tribute to Gogoi’s portrait.
The prayer of all the faith was held on the occasion in the presence of senior congress leaders such as former President Assam PCC Ripun Bora, opposition leader Debabrata Saikia and senior Congress Rakibul Hussain and NSUI workers, Youth Congress and other party wings.
“Tarun Gogoi took Assam’s political leadership during difficult times when the countries were feared feared due to secret murder.
Before the 2001 country election, the people at Assam were afraid to get out of their homes after 6pm,” said Borah.
He added, “Our economy is destroyed, the number of idle youth is increasing, the educational sector is a mess and there is no right infrastructure for education.
