Patna: The State Congress of President Madan Mohan Jha on Friday went to New Delhi to discuss the number of seats, his party would compete in the upcoming legislative council elections.
The source said Jha is expected to meet Bihar Incharge Bhakta Charan Das and other senior party leaders on Saturday in this matter.
Although the number of Congress seats will claim it has not yet become clear, the State spokesman Rajesh Ratorre said they would demand the number of honorable seats from RJD, or will compete for themselves as they did in the selection of assemblies recently concluded for Tarapur and Kusheshwar Seat Astan .
The election for 24 empty chairs from Pancayati Raj and local urban body constituencies will be held in the state.
The source at RJD said the party had completed nearly 16 candidates and they had begun campaign in their respective regions.
When asked about the number of seats to be given RJD to other alliance partners, Chitranjan Gagan spokesman answered, “One thing is clear that it is MahagathBandhan who will oppose the election and not certain parties.”
