New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday night appointed Navjot Sidhu as the head of the Punjab Congress, ignored the serious objections submitted by party leaders, led by Minister of Amarinder Singh, and resolved the problem that had become a source of many quarrels and instability for two last month.
Sidhu’s appointment proved that the niche had been carved by cricket traders for himself since he left BJP and joined the 2017 Assembly and the way he positioned himself as an anti-amarinder singh voice in Punjab Congress Aparatus and an anti-badal campaign.
It also shows a decisive incision of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in party affairs.
Many believe that the way he holds AAP’s threat to the party, with speculation that he can defect if he is ignored, also plays a role in the increase.
Prashant Kishor’s input election strategy to Gandhis during the last meeting they also speculated about.
Incidentally, Kishor is an advisor for CM Singh.
The announcement occurred on the day of all Punjab Congress representatives in parliament in terms of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPS held a meeting and conveyed to the Kuningan Party that Sidhu could not be accepted by them.
The decision to go for the announcement late at night, it was not Monday as planned as a reaction to the busyness of the meeting, and an intentional worshiper by Gandhi’s brothers to CM and party parliament members to increase the red flag into the plan.
All eyes are now if, and how, the party manages the convincing show between CM Singh and Sidhu who virtually emptied his Twitter and TV weapons in Satrap for the past two months.
Some believe it can trigger further instability phases and may be more up.
For Congress, which has become the dominant force in Punjab, Overruling Amarinder Singh’s Choice in state politics shows that the party under Siblat Gandhi really wants to consider new options.
Previous efforts by parties to create alternative state leadership were canceled by the dominant leader of “Captain” which had special constituencies in the Party and State.
Now, the question will definitely appear if CM Singh will be an automatic choice if the Congress returns to power in March 2022 or if Sidhu can be preferred by Gandhis.
In addition to putting Sidhu at the PCC helmet, the Congress also appointed four “work presidents” – A Sikh OBC, a Dalit Sikh and a Hindu besides JAT, all loyalists Rahul – for the social balance dubbed in a very necessary state.
With Sidhu as the Head of the Congress, the ruling party now has two Sikh Sikh above, in contrast to how Congress has shared CM posts and PCC heads between the dominant Sikh and Hindu community.
Amarinder Singh cm made this argument while demanding that a Hindu leader be appointed as party president in Punjab, his choice became Manish Tewari.
The Sidhu appointment set to rest speculation that has agreed to the Punjab Congress for more than two months, which resulted in the AICC which was the panel of three members led by Malikarjun Kharge to end intime.
CM Amarinder Singh made a last attempt against Sidhu by writing a letter two days ago to the Congress’s head against the move.
However, a visit by Secretary General AICC Harish was treated for Chandigarh and the discussion with Singh ended with the last one stating that he would accept leadership decisions.
While Sidhu is seen as a new face and is often described as an erratic and solo player, leadership believes that he has public sentiment behind him by placing himself as a focus on the problems led by the Badal family.
Training his weapons in CM, Sidhu has been in the past few weeks repeatedly alleged that Amarinder soft at Badals for political comfort, quoting accusing soft peddling cases and prosecution of drug trafficking.
The challenge for Congress is if there is a negative reaction between Hindu communities given that the party itself has made it a problem.
In addition, Sidhu’s defect has repeatedly underlined that his meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his controversial arms to the Head of the Pakistani army remained a red cloth with many people in the state, specifically Hindus.
