Panaji: Congress on Tuesday released a third and fourth list selecting candidates for 11 constituents for assembly polls February 14.
Surprise comes in St Andre.
Among the candidates stated on Tuesday is also a constituency of St Andre where alliance partners, Goa Forward Party (GFP) have campaigned aggressively declaring the nomination of Jagadish Bhobish.
A few hours later, Bhobe came out of the GFP and joined TMC.
Congress has named Anthony (Tony) Fernandes for the constituency of St Andre even because it almost runs out of choices with vacuum space made after sitting MLA Francis Silveira joined BJP along with nine others in 2019.
While the Congress almost did nothing to cut the loss in St.
Andre .
Since the departure of Silveira, GFP risked his claim to St.
Andre even before alliance talks were resolved.
In the expected line, the name of the former Minister of Michael Lobo, who joined Congress last week, was on the list.
However, Congress has not announced candidates for Siolim where Lobo’s wife, Delilah has actively combed for the past months.
Delilah has joined the congress with her husband.
After night the party stated the fourth list where the president who worked and former Minister Alexo Sequeira was nominated from Nuvem and Savio d’Silva from Velim.
The Dharmesh Sanglani Board member has been chosen for the contest against the Head of the Sawant Minister of Pramod in Sakhali, while, in Canacona, who targeted GFP, Congress insisted he by nominating the youth functionary of Janardan Bhandari for a long time.
This is the second time the Sanglan has been nominated by the Congress.
Other constituencies stated by candidates are, Porvorim Vikash Prabhudesai, Tivim Safe Lotlikes, and Bicholim Meghashyam Rau.
In Porvorim, Prabhudesai will take Rohan Khaunte who is now with BJP.
Lotlikes, who joined Congress in several times, have started a campaign by sponsoring events in constituencies, said sources.
For Madkai, the Congress has appointed former MGP Ponda Mla Lavoo Mamland who joined around a week ago after separation from Congress Trinamool (TMC).
Former MLA Prasad Gaonkar Independently named Sanguem candidate.
Goankar also joined the Congress a few days ago.
Congress lost a lot of support in Tivim after Mla Nilkant Halarnkar joined BJP even though the first had not done anything significant in the past year to support support.
Until now, Congress has declared candidates for 30 elections, including two pre-polling alliance partners, GFP.
Maybe you have to make a fresh announcement for Poriem and Curorim.
Senior legislator Pratapsingh Rane who was declared Poriem candidate last month signaled his politics in continuing politics after being there for about 50 years.
It was named Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco as a prospective curorim for a week before he left Congress and joined TMC.
Two days ago, Lourenco stopped TMC, but had not revealed the plan, even though the lobo had invited him to rejoin the Congress.
It’s still seen if the congress will bring it back and also give him a ticket after he left him with a red face last month.
A source said that Congress did not want to simplify a lot of space for the GPF in sharing chairs and wanted the last satisfied only with Fatorda and Mayem, very aware that GFP did not have many chips for bargaining.
Meanwhile, GFP also has not hid the plan for Mandrem.
