Lucknow: Congress Under the leadership of the National Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday decided to take 2,000 Km-Long Yatra through the villages and the city of Uttar Pradesh before the assembly poll next year.
The decision to take “Yatra Pratiga Congress: Hum Vachan Nibhayenge” was taken at Gandhi meeting held with members of the Party Advisory Committee and Strategy in Lucknow, said the party in a statement.
“Yatra will cover 12,000 km and will pass through the villages and cities of the country.
The details of Yatra are being resolved,” he said.
During Yatra, Congress leaders will convince people that they will fulfill the promises made by the party in the poll process.
Gandhi takes feedback and advice on committee members on the route and problems that will be taken during Yatra.
He will later hold a meeting with a member of the party election committee.
The Legislature Party Leader Congress in Assembly Aradhna Mishra Mona, President of the State Unit Ajay Kumar Lallu and Senior Party leader Promod Tiwari attended a meeting, among others.
Gandhi, who led the Congress campaign in the state of Uttar Pradesh, was crucial politically, arrived at Lucknow on Thursday to review the preparedness of the party poll.
Congress was reduced to seven seats in the election of 2017 assembly in Uttar Pradesh.
BJP has won 312 seats in 403 legislative assembly members to form a government for the second period of time in a row.
