Panaji: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said his party would not allow Goa to become a coal import hub if he chose to power in the assembly election next year.
The increase in coal imports through the Port of Mormugao in the state ruled by BJP and the double tracking of the connecting railroad lines is designed to help certain entrepreneurs, he said, handling the convention of congressional workers nearby.
Under the government of Narendra Modi in the middle, “sector by sector” was monopolized by five to six industrialists the same, Gandhi said.
“Today I met fishermen, they told me that the railroad lines were doubled, coal imports through the port had increased and the cave turned into a coal hub,” he said.
“We will not let Goa turn into a coal hub,” he said.
He also met people affected by the closure of the iron ore mining industry in the state, said Congress leader.
“Lakh people who suffer from the closure of mining, and they say the mine will go to the people who want Delhi.
The mine will go the same person,” Gandhi said, without mentioning anyone.
If elected to power, Congress will restart mining activities in Goa in a legal way, he assures.
“The airport for Adani, the port for adani and cave mining is also for Adani.
What happened to you?” Gandhi asked.
The famous ‘acche din’ slogan at this prime minister was intended for ordinary people but for “Adani and Ambani”, he accused.
“You will remember, a few years ago PM came on television and did what is now called demonetization.
He canceled the appeal to the rupee noted,” Gandhi said, accusing that the goal was to help certain business families.
The introduction of the tax and service tax followed by agricultural bills is not a random development, said Congress leader.
“The plan is to attack the unorganized sector, small and medium enterprises, to attack small traders, labor and to attack farmers.
To take from them and give it to the richest and most powerful people in the country,” he said.
“Wherever you see, you will find the same five-six names.
Look at the port, coal, airport, agriculture, retail, telecommunications, you will find the same five or six people in sector sector,” Congress leader said.
GST is designed to endanger small and medium enterprises and agricultural laws designed to destroy small traders and farmers, alleged Gandhi.
He also accused the media not to portray the reality of the country.
“Chinese people enter our country, take thousands of kilometers of land, the land of almost the size of Delhi is occupied.
They sit domestically and PM say no one takes our land,” he said.
Referring to his discussion with former Finance Minister Union P Chidambaram, who was present at the Convention, Gandhi said Congress would provide sustainable work by developing educational hubs, health hubs and tourism in Goa.
“We are not only fighting for selection here.
We fight about defining what will be a cave, how Goa will treat itself and how Goa will treat the whole world.
I want Goa to tell the rest of India that Goa can stand together and maintain and maintain and protect culture And the environment is extraordinary and still moving with enthusiasm and dynamism, “he said.
