Democratic Congressman from Illinois King Krishnamoorthi asked his congregation colleagues to join a letter to the US home speaker Nancy Pelosi and the majority leader of Senate Schumer Senate on the need to overcome work-based green card backlogs as part of budget reconciliation.
Each package that addresses the old immigration priority must include relieved for around 1.2 million people, most Indians, cannot accept green cards mainly due to state-based discrimination, Krishnamoorthi said in press releases.
“I am happy that handling our damaged immigration system is part of the discussion of budget reconciliation,” said Krishnamoorthi Congressman on Monday.
“However, it is very important every immigration package includes provisions to overcome work-based green card backlogs, which damage American competitiveness and leave 1.2 million people for immigrant immigrant status.
I called my colleagues to immediately raise this important problem with this Leadership and ensure that assistance for skilled workers who are backlogs are included in the final package.
