Chennai: A Conman stole nine rulers of gold jewelry from a Septuagenarian woman in T Nagar in Chennai on Tuesday after turning her attention.
The police said Conman intercepted Sulochana, 72, from Kannamapet in T Nagar, who returned home from Muppathamman Coil on Sanhanam Salai.
The man told him that an officer called him.
When the woman ignored it and continued to walk, the man abused him to ask if he didn’t hear what he said.
The woman told him that he had hearing difficulties.
The man told him that a robber had attacked senior citizens and seized valuables.
He asked him if he also wanted to be a victim of robbers.
He asked him to remove his golden jewelry.
The man helped him put his things in a package.
After walking a few meters, the woman opened the package and only found sand and stone in it.
He rushed back to the same place and looked for the man.
Because he didn’t see the man, he went to the Pondy Bazaar police station and filed a complaint
