Noida: A 25-year-old young man allegedly cheated by Rs 1.6 lakh by online fraudsters with the pretext of getting male escort work.
A pine has been submitted by Noida police with complaints from young people.
In his police complaint, young people claimed that he recently received a call from an unknown number.
“The caller told me about male escort work and convinced me to make RS 1,150 payment as a one-time registration fee.
Furthermore, in some efforts with the pretext of facilitating various processes, the caller persuaded me to pay a total of Rs 1.6 lakh,” he said told police.
According to the police, the young man has been looking for work for the past few months.
Anjani Kumar Singh, Sho of Sector 49 Police Station, said, “He is a graduate who has posted a resume on several work sites.
Fraudsters collect information from the web and call him.
Based on complaints, we have registered a case against unknown suspects below (cheating) of the Criminal Code and Section 66-D of the IT law on Monday.
“Police said that they would scan the details of youth transactions and call records to arrest suspects involved in the racket.
“The effort puts aside allegations,” said a police officer.
