Consideration of Returns to Neet, Stalin Urgent PM

Chennai: Chairman of the Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider the decision to hold a competitive examination, including the national feasibility test (NEET) to enter into medical and dental courses, because it could cause the spread of Covid-19.
He also asked the center to bring GST on all items related to Covid to Zero Rate.
Stalin spoke at the Prime Minister’s video conference with the main ministers about the Covid-19 situation and a problem related to vaccines.
NEET is scheduled to be held on September 12.
“Schools and colleges remain closed.
In this pandemic situation, conducting national level exams such as Neet can lead to the spread of the disease.
Therefore, I asked the Prime Minister to reconsider the decision,” said the ministerial head.
He stressed that the state government made all preparations for managing the third possible and urgent wave to allocate more resources to Tamil Nadu.
The new government led by him has faced pandemic challenges, reducing death and containing infectious diseases, said Stalin.
“My government has reduced vaccine shortages from 6% to 0% and successfully creates vaccine awareness.
Now the demand for vaccines in Tamil Nadu is very high,” CM said, pointing to the low vaccine allotment to Tamil Nadu when compared to other countries and seeking support from Prime Minister for vital problems.
He thanked the trade union government to increase the allocation of oxygen and rembust rembuses of remedies for Tamil Nadu.
On Tuesday, Stalin wrote a letter to Modi, looking for its intervention to correct an imbalance in vaccine allocation to the country and demand for a special allocation of one dose of crore vaccine.
The state does not accept vaccines proportionally with the size of the population which results in deficiencies.
Stalin complained that the number of vaccine doses provided to the state was only 302 per thousand per population, while Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan received 533, 493 and 446 respectively.
Remind the distribution of government assistance from RS 4,000 in two installments for two crore family card holders, along with a 14 item grocery kit, the minister’s chairmen urged the United States to provide additional rice to all cardholders who qualified because allotment was made only for.
