Construction workers are dissolved in the welfare council

Chennai: The state government has reconstructed the Welfare Board of the Tamil Nadu construction workers, after a five-year gap.
The Chairperson of Minister M K Stalin has ordered for the reconstitution of the Board, the official press release here said on Tuesday.
In the welfare council, representatives of government departments including the secretary of housing and urban development, city administration and water supply.
Representatives of employers include a developer body such as the Association of Indian Builders and Confederation of Indian Real Estate Developer Associations.
PONKUMAR has made chairman of the Board, consisting of 26 members including manual workers representatives.
Ponkumar previously served as chairman of the council.
Further press releases said the Welfare Council of Tamil Nadu construction workers with around 13.4 lakh registered workers had not been dissolved after his tenure ended in February 2016.
