Wild elephants often damage the ration shop for rice.
When there is no stock of rice in the shop, wild elephants enter the quarter of the tea staff to look for rice rations.
So, we have decided to set up Ransum container shop as a pilot project in Estate Thimudi soon, “said Deputy Director of ATR MG Ganesan.
It is estimated that it will cost around Rs 10 lakh to set up a store in a metal container.
“We have to buy a used container where at least 150 bags of rice can be saved.
The container will be repaired above four pillars,” said Ganesan.
